Having recently moved from Dubai to Melbourne, this is my first winter season in 6 years (I don’t really consider 20+ degrees in the Middle East winter!) and I think I’m really craving those fresh vibrant summery colours in my life. So today I bring you the beautiful art of Rowena Martinich. Gorgeous right? Bold, bright, messy and fantastic. Rowena is an abstract expressionist artist based here in Melbourne.
Being creative from an early age, Rowena dabbled in graphic design but later went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art at RMIT University. Since then her career as an artist has exploded with an impressive list of exhibitions and public art displays. Her work has been exhibited in numerous galleries but I love that it’s the everyday spaces she has transformed – such as parks, building facades, shops and schools – in which her work really pops. It turns the ordinary into something really special.
